I could probably have finished this yesterday and had it up for this morning, but I had an extra dialysis treatment this week...
Ellie has finally achieved her final form... I'm a lot happier with her looks now. Witty and DK both have gotten to the point where I can "shorthand" their looks fairly quickly while drawing a toon. Hopefuilly Ellie will be at that point soon, as well.
Stay tuned for the showdown with Professor Psycho. It's on the way. I promise.

It's out of order, But I promised Warren a new strip for his Mom for Christmas (And YES, I know it's LATE, too....)

I'm hoping my new schedule of updates I've worked out keeps me up-to-date.
As of this comic, I'm planning One new strip (ready to be scanned), one fully edited and lettered, (like this one is now), and one old strip colored each week. Hopefully I'm not setting myself up for a fall, here.

First new 'toon in a long time, due to one thing and another (mostly computer problems). There are five more either finished or in the prep stage, so many new updates are coming. |

If you watch, you can see the stylistic changes occurring as I search for the proper "Style" for each character. By strip 8 I pretty much had DK down pat (look back for instance and see how his hair becomes increasingly exaggerated)... I can usually render him in less time than the others. Unfortunately, Ellie was still fluctuating pretty wildly at this point. By strip #12 (which I am just inking now), she's achieved wehat I feel will be her more or less defining look.
The more i look at this one, the more that "swoop" hair annoys the ick outta me. |

Yes, I realize that this one seems a little out of sequence. I originally planned out about a dozen or so "Interludes"... little one-shot gags that would give me a little breathing space in case I was coming up against one of my self-imposed deadlines.
Since I haven't been able to keep to any sort of regular schedule anyway, and in fact have only about a dozen strips at the moment, there hardly seems any reason to use them as originally intended. However, It also struck me that I hadn't yet introduced the character of "Witty", who will shortly be making an appearance. It didn't seem right to just thrust him into the spotlight with no lead-in.
Eventually, when I have sufficient strips to make for a decent read, The various Interludes will take their proper place as filler between story arcs. Until then, I felt they should keep their place with the rest, in chronological order. |

It should be obvious, but this one isn't finished, either. Not even as a black and white. Part of the reason was that I got out of the swing of immediately coloring my strips, and part of it was that I couldn't figure out how to do speed lines which should be part of panel 3.
In any event, I did eventually figure out speed lines (and on my own! Normally I have to run to my cousin for help), and I still plan to finish these black and whites as time allows. Stay tuned for that.
Oh, and as the print at the bottom of the strip may be unclear, I owe the use of the character Marguerite the Clueless Pink Cow to Sebastien Andrivet, who is one of the greatest people ever to roam the net. Sebastien runs an online RPG resource for the old DC Heroes RPG (popularly referred to as MEGS, currently published as Blood of Heroes by Pulsar Games Inc), which can be seen at www.writeups.org More information on Marguerite can be found there.

This strip actually still isn't "finished". Due to my incredible ineptitude with Photoshop (and the fact I'm using a way old version!), there are certain bits that are harder to do than I can readily explain... and would take literally hours to actually accomplish with what I have currently. Its final form will clean up a lot of the "cluttered" look. |

I've just realized that this format will automatically present the latest comics first, and in reverse order... Oh well. It's not what I had envisioned for the eventual website, but it will do for this format.
You can see already that Ellie's look is changing. That's the sort of thing that happens when you don't have your designs completely thought out before you start drawing strips. Also, I'm not entirely sure that I mentioned Ellie's name before strip #10... |

Note the title of the book Ellie is reading... I'm rather proud of it. I hand-lettered it using Photoshop, since my original lettering w/ ink was virtually unreadable. |
